What is Shakti and how ‘she’ changed my life?

Shakti

‘Shakti’ and ‘Kundalini’ are words from the ancient Sanskrit language, yet they’re being used more and more today in our Western culture. Perhaps you’ve heard me using these terms a lot in my classes, bodywork and women’s gatherings. So why’s this ? In this post I will share a little about what it means to me and, for the first time, tell the story about how this energy spontaneously awoke in me and changed my life.

Like all Sanskrit words, a simple word is packed with so much more meaning. This is a huge field of science and mysticism, so I will just be touching on the surface.

What is Shakti?

‘Shakti’ can be translated as “power”. It describes the dynamic and creative power, or intelligence, of life. We might refer to it also as  “life-force energy”.

Yep, it’s the subtle, non-visible stuff, that you and I are made of.

It’s the feeling you have when you are truly in pure ‘flow’. It’s the energy that moves you when you dance, sing, paint, and express yourself but it feels like something else, greater than you, is moving you.

Shakti can flow through your body in ecstatic orgasmic waves of bliss and it can shake you to the very core of your being. It is pure raw energy in motion (emotion).

Shakti is the intelligent web of life connecting all things, and the field by which everything is made manifest. It is an unstoppable, primal force, abundant, free, and spontaneous.

It is your big YES! to life.

I referred to Shakti as ‘she’ in the title. This is because in Tantra and Hinduism (Shaktism), Shakti is considered feminine, and referred to as ‘Goddess’, of which she has a many manifestations.

All ancient cultures and traditions revere one or more Mother or Earth ‘Goddess’ with their own names, such as Pachamama in South America, Isis in ancient Egypt, and Anu in Celtic Ireland.

That which is conscious or aware of Shakti is considered masculine energy (Shiva).

This is not the same as man and woman. We all have and need both energies within us to function and awaken fully. Shakti without Shiva is life force with no direction, i.e. chaos, and Shiva without Shakti is thoughts without ability to manifest, i.e. all heady.

Kundalini Shakti and sexual energy

‘Kundalini’ is Shakti energy, said to be coiled like a snake at the base of your spine, and lying dormant until it is awakened. This is not something you can or should force to happen, although you can support your body to release tension and open the channels for subtle energy to move.

As it uncoils inside you, Kundalini rises up from the pelvis, through a subtle nerve or channel in the spine, awakening and releasing energy at the main energy centres or chakras, until it reaches and opens the crown of the head.

Shakti is, by its nature, sexual energy since life itself is sexual.

It is procreative evolutionary energy rising up from the sexual centre of your body to awaken and transform your consciousness.

Without the sexual or life-force energy you easily feel depleted, burnt-out, depressed, and lacking interest in life.

From my personal experience, so, I believe understanding and awakening Shakti is critical to our health, vitality and happiness.

My first experience of Kundalini Shakti

I remember it so clearly. In June 2013, at the time of the summer solstice, I was sitting in a large circle at a shamanic gathering at Dunderry Park in Ireland. We were holding hands, preparing our intentions for a sacred fire-walking ceremony.

Suddenly my body started to jolt, as if I was holding an electric fence and getting electric currents shooting up my body. It was crazy! It wasn’t painful but it was a bit scary as it was completely out of my control and came on so suddenly. We weren’t doing any breathing or energy activation practice.

I put my hands on the ground to stay connected to the Earth and tried to breathe deeply as these jolts continued. The facilitator, Martin Duffy, came to support and reassure me with hands on my feet and head. Once I understood what was going on, I must admit, I thought it was kind of cool!!

The powerful experience lasted a few minutes but the energy kept on jolting me every so often for hours. In fact for the next few months these involuntary jolts kept coming. Sometimes at night in bed. Sometimes just little shock waves during the day.

How Shakti’s fire woke me up

A couple of months later I was sitting again in a Circle, or an amplified energy field, at my first Heart IQ Accelerated Awakening Retreat with Christian Pankhurst. Here ‘she’ activated with super strength. For no apparent reason, my body suddenly started jolting back and forward strongly. I started crying and gasping for breath, holding on to the earth for support. I had no story or thoughts related to my tears but something wanted to move in me.

With the support of Christian sitting behind me this time, arms tightly around my belly, and pressing into my belly, I finally let out the most powerful screams, cries and roars of my life. Sounds I had never heard before. Emotions and power I had never felt in my body before. Full power to the core of my being.

It was like I was connected to the primal raw force of life itself, to the grief of all of humanity. These were labour pains that were awakening me, rebirthing me, to what it means to be fully alive in a woman’s body, in a human body.

And then suddenly it stopped. There was a profound sense of stillness.

35 people were in the circle with me. No-one moved. We’d all felt it. Every sense in my body was heightened. I felt like I had super powers and that every cell in my body was expanding with life-force. I was wide open and solidly connected down into the earth and up to the sky.

My eyes were wide open. I never blinked. I took a long time to look at every person in the eyes, as if I needed to transmit something to them. I was seeing their Souls. In that moment I met my brothers and sisters from a whole different level.

I would never see people in the same way again.

So what changed?

Well, everything really. Experiencing Shakti changed my life as it changed my experience of myself and of others, and well, of life itself really. I had an insight to super powers!

I was given another perspective on humanity. I FELT it. I had never before felt so alive in my body, as if I was inhabiting it more fully, and more than my body at the same time.

I could see something different in people, something deeper, something far beyond their superficial personality or conditioning. I felt a profound connection. There was no more fear or ego or separation needed to protect myself.

I felt incredibly loving, wise and beyond all notion of time or space.

I now had a physical, embodied memory of a much greater potential. (Please read this sentence again!)

This is key. Your potential is limitless!

It is not knowing something in your head, reading it in a book or being told it by someone else, that your life transforms. It is a personal embodied experience that transforms you. I will add to that the importance of being witnessed by others there too, as key to anchoring and integrating.

I also now had an embodied experience of life-force energy.

The potential of life and life-force energy is limitless. In my process of recovering from burn-out and chronic fatigue, this was to prove crucial since I learned that we can tap into the life-force of the universe and flow in her natural waves.

To be continued

So, this little story was only the very beginning. I have continued ever since to educate myself, explore and in fact dedicate my life to this intelligence, and experience so much more in my body.

I have since then helped my body release tension and open up to allow this energy flow more freely and fluidly through me, so that it feels more blissful. I have learnt how to activate it and refine the gates.

It is a life-time project for me to truly dance with Shakti and master my energy body, and it is my absolute passion to share her wisdom with others. I would have loved to have known more and understood better what was happening for me at the time.

I believe that awakening Shakti is vital to healing and transforming the individual, the collective and our relationship to the Earth.

So, yes, I have so much more to say about this, but I’ll have to keep it for future posts……

I’d love to hear from you. Please do share your comments, questions and your own experiences.

How You show Me how to be a better Me – reflections from the Rest to Rise Retreat

IMG_3867

I am just back from my 3-day Rest to Rise Retreat up in the French Jura. I can’t believe I’ve been running these retreats now since 2011, sometimes 4 times a year, and every single time it’s different and every single time I grow.

I am feeling so blessed and grateful right now. I am reminded of who I want to be.

Again and again, I am blown away by what happens on these retreats.

The people who show up, and I mean really show up, are like mirrors, reflecting back to me my fears and my pains, my self-doubt and confusion, my shadow and my light, my beauty, my strength, and my longing to live a Great life.

They are a direct reflection of my humanity and my divinity, standing before me, looking directly in my eyes.

Wow! That can feel really vulnerable at times, and really inspiring and empowering too.

I am reminded that when I show up, when I relax into being myself, fully, and when I open up to listen and share with others, I realise I have so much in common with pretty much everyone.

We each have our personal struggles and painful life experiences. We each have our crazy, monkey, self-doubting mind. We each have our shame, limiting beliefs and patterns that we’ve made our identity and that hold us back. We have our resistance to the very thing we long for the most. We each have incredible inner resources, wisdom, longing and love.

And how relieving it is to know that I am only human after all!!

Do you ever (unconsciously) run the story that your issues and problems are so unique or shameful that nobody would understand or want to hear them? Funny, isn’t it how we can alienate and separate ourselves ?

In Buddhism, Hinduism and original yogic texts, this illusion of separation is called Avidya – ignorance – and is said to be a root cause of our suffering (Dukha).

So, this past weekend in the French Jura, we took time to create space, to be still and silent, to release tension and to open up. Naturally this lead us to being more able to feel our bodies and our emotions, and to notice the stream of thoughts running through our minds. Some of them positive, some are really not.

Approaching all of this with the ‘right attitude’ is key.

When we support each other to do this with respect, patience, humility, compassion, and curiosity, then true wisdom flows forth. I just love hearing this wisdom emerge from each person as if it were being delivered on a silver platter for me!

The amazing thing is that every time someone shares how they are feeling and what is going on for them – no matter how big their pain, or uncomfortable their story, or wacky their vision is – it is so easy to love them.

As I hear, see and love them exactly as they are, in their pain and in their joy, without needing to give fix or advise or compete, I am loving myself even more in all my chaotic, neurotic, perfect messiness.

The more real and raw they are, the more present I am with my heart and the more alive I feel.

In truth, I yearn for this authenticity. I yearn for this radically real human connection and community. I yearn to show up in this way in life and be met there.

And the incredible thing is that just by creating this relaxed, loving space together, and allowing the space to reveal whatever wants to be revealed, with no push or pull, what gradually emerges is access to our innate sources of energy, joy, inner peace and love.

Inspiration bubbles up. We start to feel free again.

We are ready to rise up again, but now connected to a core and unlimited sense of Self.

Here are some other lessons and reflections I got from spending 3 days with an awesome group of people on the Rest to Rise Retreat:

  • I am responsible for my life, my health and my happiness.
  • It is my choice to live an inspired and sacred life, aligned with my own truth.
  • I have full control of the energy in body. There is infinite supply of energy in the universe. When I release blockages and tension in my body I can access, channel and be a unique expression of this abundant life force.
  • You are a reflection of me, and I am a reflection of you. By loving you, I am loving me. By loving me, I am loving you.
  • Space, stillness and silence are hugely healing and nourishing, and help me go beyond the crazy chatter of the mind to a deeper, wiser connection with my true nature. Wisdom, clarity, peace of mind, connection and creativity naturally arise.
  • Nature reveals her loving wisdom in powerful and surprising ways when I take quality time and create my own unique relationship with her, really listening to her and trusting her.
  • I choose to create and seek out safe space whereby I can feel my emotions and be seen and felt and heard there by others, without fixing or advising. This unlocks stuck energy and liberates the flow of innate joy.
  • I choose to follow my own path and let others follow their path. I trust that my higher Self is going to guide me and I am going to be open to receive her guidance and abundance.
  • I choose to be in my body, and to feel all there is to feel in this human body.
  • I choose to live in the present moment.
  • Showing up fully is a choice and requires inspired action to share my vulnerable truth.
  • Movement, sound and breath help move energy and emotion (energy in motion) and can transform any moment. Authentic movement, sound and breath arise naturally from within, and connect me to my inner power and resources.
  • I acknowledge that feeling stuck, or disappointed, or uncomfortable, or disconnected is very much part of the awakening and transformational path. I just need to be awake enough in these moments to bring love, understanding and patience.
  • Knowing how good it feels to be deeply connected to myself and to others, I choose to be disciplined and courageous in taking inspired action to reconnect and to feel all there is to be felt, when I find myself closing down, resisting or disconnecting.

I shared some videos on Facebook during the retreat, so you can check them out there.

25 ways to raise your vibrations this winter and why it’s important

Do you notice that during the winter months it can be easy to let your vibrations lower? Do you feel heavier and less motivated? It’s not the case for everyone but I certainly feel that I need to be more consciously and actively finding ways to raise my vibrations every day.

It’s because it’s darker and colder, you may be inside more, less active, eating more and heavier food, watching tv and spending more time looking at computer screens, and that will all affect your moods and thoughts.

It can be hard to just change your thoughts and mood because you want to. As soon as you take measures to raise your vibrations though, your thoughts and experience of life immediately change!

raise-your-vibration

What does it mean to have high or low vibrations?

We all vibrate energetically at a particular frequency. The lower the frequency, the denser your energy. What you sometimes forget is that this directly affects your experience of life. Problems seem heavier too. You may experience heavier emotions, darker thoughts or lack of clarity, and more pain and discomfort in your physical body. It takes more energy and effort to get things done. There is less flow in your body and in life. This can lead to dis-ease.

The higher the frequency at which you vibrate energetically, the lighter you feel in your physical, emotional, and mental bodies. You have a sense of ease and flow in your body and your life. Challenges and emotions are dealt with easily. You manifest what you want almost as soon as you dream it. You feel more love and compassion, power, clarity, peace, and joy. Your energy is literally full of light!

Why is it important to raise your vibrations?

As Albert Einstein once said:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

So when you raise your vibrations you are literally emanating and attracting health, love, compassion, positivity, clarity, abundance, joy and so on. You will attract situations and people that are vibrating at that same high level as you. And similarly, you’ll attract lower vibrational people and situations when you lower your vibrations.

That gives me plenty of motivation! How about you? In fact, I would say that it is my number one priority and my conscious life path now to be making choices that consistently raise my vibrations.

Can you feel it? Take responsibility for your vibrational frequency.

We all have access to feeling our energy and the changes in our vibrations. I invite you from now on though to become really conscious of it, and especially of how your state of vibrational frequency is affecting you and others.

Tune in to your body, thoughts and emotions regularly during the day to see how you are feeling. Notice what is happening in your life, how people are acting, what situations are coming up and how you are responding to them. This is reflecting back to you something important about your own vibrations.

Once you are aware of it, you can take action to raise your vibrations for positive impact.

25 easy ways to consciously raise your vibrations

Ok, so here are a bunch of ways to consciously raise your vibrations this winter.

  1. Breathe deeply – From simple abdominal breathing to complex pranayama techniques, breathing is one of the most effective ways to let go of tension, get into your body and get your energy flowing again. It can be a powerful way to activate your energy body and access higher states of consciousness.
  2. Dance – Try starting your day by dancing for 15 minutes to your favourite uplifting tunes, or find yourself a Five Rhythms tribe locally, and make intuitive, free expression through your body a regular practice.
  3. Spend time in nature – It’s a no-brainer. Get your body saturated in the abundant negative ions in nature so that you feel alive and vibrant. Guaranteed effect!
  4. Get plenty of healing sleep and rest – Make it a priority for your body to regenerate through deep healing sleep and periods of conscious rest.
  5. Eat unprocessed, fresh, organic food, slowly and with gratitude – All food vibrates too. So your choice of food, where and how it is produced, as well as how you prepare and eat it, is going to have a direct impact on your vibrations.
  6. Drink lots of pure water – There is loads of evidence now showing how water crystals change depending how it is treated and the container you put it in. A flower of life bottle or even your own positive thoughts can make a difference.
  7. Practice gratitude – Instant gratification from a very different source than shopping or eating!! Make it a daily practice before bed to count your blessings and realise how lucky you are to have so much abundance and love in your life.
  8. Practice acts of kindness – It brings such a warm feeling to your heart to offer spontaneous compliments or little acts of kind service to total strangers and to loved ones alike.
  9. Laugh out loud – A good old belly laugh triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals, decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies.
  10. Love – Ok, this is the fast food for high vibrations. Nothing is more impactful on our system than the vibration of love. Even just imagining someone or something you love will raise your vibrations. This is not so much about being in love, but more about being love, thus in a state of love.
  11. Sing and sound – Whether it’s hollering in the car, howling under the full moon, blazing out the Bohemian Rhapsody under the shower, or singing a lullaby to your baby (or yourself), activating your voice consciously is like super food! Chanting OM puts you in direct vibration with the Universe.
  12. Let go – Release locked up tension and energy by actively letting go of attachment, fear, resistance, resentment and need to control. Allow feelings to be expressed consciously as they come up so that emotions don’t get locked up inside. Feel your fear and do it anyway. Trust your intuition and step forward into the unknown.
  13. Dream – Another superfood for your body. Spend time day dreaming. Imagine it in full colour, feel it in your body, taste it, smell it, hear it. Literally dream your life and the world you most desire into being.
  14. Be you – Be honest and authentically you. Do what you love to do. Be a full and unique expression of you in every moment. This is true high vibration existence!!
  15. Receive an energy healing – Energy healing and energetic body work, including conscious massage, is very powerful to help raise your vibrations. You just need to relax and open yourself to the flow of energy.
  16. Meditation  – The key thing is to bring yourself into the present moment, relaxing into what is, in order to access deeper being and knowing. This instantly brings you into higher vibrations.
  17. Practice Yoga, Tai Chi or Qi Gong – All of these practices use breath and movement to consciously clear the energy channels – essential to allow energy to flow freely again, bringing and maintaining ease, clarity and vitality.
  18. Hugs – The real, body-embracing, long, loving type of hugs, are scientifically proven to stimulate oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine, balance the nervous system, enhance the immune system, reduce heart rate and reduce worry of mortality. Let’s get hugging!
  19. Extended sensual and sexual pleasure – This is what Tantra is all about. It’s not about having great sex really, it’s about accessing and extending high vibrational pleasure states in life in order to heal and access higher states of consciousness. It is about living in an orgasmic state, vibrantly alive and joyful.
  20. Spend time with animals – Pure, grounded, and often, enlightened beings. There’s no analysis of whether their parents treated them right or blaming the government for all the woes of the world. Animals are present moment high vibrators.
  21. Play with children – Babies and children are naturally high vibrational. Spending time playing with them will help you activate your childlike joy, freedom and awe and wonder of the world too.
  22. Spend time with inspiring, uplifting people  – As Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the 5 people you spend most time with.” Find your tribe and spend time with people who are actively being positive, living on purpose and making the world a better place. Read inspiring books and watch great TED talks.
  23. Be creative with your hands  – Your hands are energetically connected to your heart. Write, paint or make something with your hands and your heart.
  24. Clear your space of negative and artificial energy – Turn off all devices and get away from computer screens as much as possible. Use crystals or essential oils to clear the energy in your home. Use natural cleaning products. Turn off wifi and phones when you sleep.
  25. Open yourself to Universal energy – Simply open up and tune in to the energy of the Universe for healing and guidance. Ask for guidance from your Spirit guides. Believe that everything is happening FOR you and know that you are being supported and guided all the time.

Here’s wishing you a high vibrations this winter! Enjoy being orgasmically alive!

Fall in Love with your Longing

Longing is what drives you forward. It gives you courage. It fuels your passion. It ensures your innovation and evolution.

Often, however, we confuse it with a story of not having and get lost in the pain and suffering of ‘lack’. We seek quick fixes and ways to numb it out. We project and blame others for not meeting the need of this longing. We rant and rage. We grasp and fall victim.

Yet deep down this exquisite throbbing is a divine blessing, where pain and pleasure and power combine to ignite your life-force energy.

Longing pulls you out of mundane, mediocre existence. It inspires possibility and fuels greatness.

Longing makes you curious. It drives you to seek.

This longing yearns to be felt; felt by you.

What is this longing? Go deeper. And deeper again. Keep asking and go as deep as you can go to feel the true longing in your heart, in your body, in your soul.

Feel the energy, feel the emptiness, without doing anything about it, to fulfil it or numb it out.

Completely surrender, and keep surrendering to the ache of this longing.

Ride the wave of its force and fall in love with its pulse.

Get to know your longing intimately.

Your longing, when it is fully embraced, will set you free!

the longing

“For Longing” a poem by John O’Donohue

blessed be the longing that brought you here
and quickens your soul with wonder.

may you have the courage to listen to the voice of desire
that disturbs you when you have settled for something safe.

may you have the wisdom to enter generously into your own unease
to discover the new direction your longing wants you to take.

may the forms of your belonging – in love, creativity, and friendship –
be equal to the grandeur and the call of your soul.

may the one you long for long for you.
may your dreams gradually reveal the destination of your desire.

may a secret providence guide your thought and nurture your feeling.

may your mind inhabit your life with the sureness
with which your body inhabits the world.

may your heart never be haunted by ghost-structures of old damage.

may you come to accept your longing as divine urgency.
may you know the urgency with which God longs for you.

Listen deeply, Live courageously, Love fiercely

In honour of the Sacred Feminine

There is a place, not far from here
Sign-posted from all directions
Visited by many, enjoyed by many

But I wonder, do they really see
Do they really feel
Do they allow themselves to be touched deeply

This place is sacred
This is where SHE resides
This is where SHE expresses all her creative power and love

But I wonder, do they really see HER
Do they really feel HER
Do they allow themselves to be touched deeply by HER

For in truth, one must ask permission
And one must wait to receive the invitation
To enter this Sacred Temple of the divine Goddess

Though many may enter, few truly enter
Since to go beyond the surface requires humility, sensitivity, surrender
SHE must be acknowledged, honoured, worshipped

For those willing, respectful and truly humble
Be ready to get completely lost in HER magnificence
Be willing to die to HER vast limitless love

Know that you will be ravaged by HER power
You will be overwhelmed by HER abundance
You  will have no choice but to be opened and transformed

You will fall in love, SHE will open you to love
But do not try to own HER, Do not try to tame HER
Do not claim you understand HER

Be aware of what SHE awakens in you
For SHE has many sacred faces, SHE has many voices
SHE is calling you into greater presence to experience HER all

For SHE is loving you, all of you, deeply
SHE is guiding you every step, through whispers and cries
SHE is in you. SHE is you.

May we remember, acknowledge and honour
HER abundant love, creative force and transforming power

May we listen carefully, may we feel deeply, may we act consciously
For SHE is awakening, SHE is calling

The Sacred Feminine in all her forms

In benevolent gratitude,
Georgina

Sunrise meditation (Navigating the Shadow – part 2)

In my last post I wrote about navigating the shadow, and this beautiful playful dance between light and dark in ourselves. In this post I want to share a nice simple practice to relax and to let go in those moments that feel sticky or heavy, and to allow yourself fill up with the light again.

Talking to a very special mentor of mine this week, she described so eloquently the ebb and flow between our light and shadow parts, just like day and night. They are such integral parts of who we are. They come and go with the natural flow of life. There are times when we are consumed in the dark night of the shadow and other times filled with bright light. Just like day and night, we cannot and do not need to control them. Every day the sun rises to flood the landscape with its rays of light. Every night the sun sets and the darkness falls. Nothing can hold back this natural cycle.

So it is ok and totally normal to find ourselves going through times where we are in deeper conversation with our shadow, just as it is to sit wide awake on a dark night. In fact, these can be very profound, revealing and intimate moments with ourselves, when we are not in resistance to them and we can trust that the light will naturally reappear again, just as the sun is sure to rise the next morning.

sunrise meditation

Sunrise meditation
You might like to try this simple exercise when you have a moment to just close your eyes, even for just one minute. Ideally you can practice it for real outside in nature at sunrise, but you can do it by just closing your eyes and using your imagination, perhaps in the morning before you start the day, or at any moment that it feels right to allow more light in to your being.

  • Imagine yourself sitting, standing or lying outside, perhaps in nature where you feel safe and comfortable. It is early morning before sunrise. You are turned to face East, with a clear view in front of you of the horizon. Maybe it’s a lake and mountain tops, trees and grassy fields, the open sea, the desert or the rooftops of the city.
  • You settle in your body and get still. Tune-in to your body sensations as you relax more and more. Feel yourself letting go of all holding and tension. Notice the free-flowing rhythm of your breath.
  • Gradually the sun starts to rise over the horizon. Imagine the light starting to flood over the landscape. The sky, your body and all that is around you is gradually being lit up. Imagine the colours emerging. Nothing can stop it or slow it down – that light is coming no matter what. It is like a warm glow. Relax as you feel the warmth touch different parts of your body and notice the changing light and colours in your eyes.
  • Feel the light of the sun filling you up, healing, awakening and re-energising every cell in your body. Fully surrender your mind and body to this flood of light and feel your own light starting to react and radiate outward in reflection. How does it feel?
  • As you let go completely, acknowledge that you do not have to do or be or achieve anything more to receive this light or to be a source of radiant light. This is what you already are.
  • When you feel complete, give gratitude to this amazing sun, source of life and light.  As you move out of this practice into the rest of your day, let the light glow out through you all of your being, through your eyes, your smile, your heart and your whole body, so that simply being in your presence can light up all those around you.

I hope you enjoy this practice. Please let me know how it feels? I feel so radiant just writing it out here!

I'll just be happy

The quickest way to happy

What is the quickest way to leading a fulfilling, happy life?

Do something that makes you happy every day. And ideally do it more than anything else!

I’m writing from the Val d’Hérens in the Swiss Alps where I rented a little chalet for myself for 4 days. What a treat. This is my total bliss!

As you may know, I schedule in a long weekend once a month to retreat and do something that nourishes me and delights me (and my soul). It is my total dream to have a chalet in the mountains. Until that happens I save my money and I dedicate it to living the dream at least once in a while!

This weekend, from the most magnificent viewpoint, in the most delightful chalet, I have spent hours in meditation, walking in nature, eating healthy food, reading great books, creating my new programme, chanting, dancing and sleeping.

Most importantly, I have spent time being quiet and listening – listening to my deep inner voice and wisdom. This has led to some spontaneous healing, awakening and self-empowerment rituals.

There are such powerful transformational energies affecting us right now. It is a beautiful opportunity to listen carefully, hold loving space for ourselves and dare to follow the inner voice.

I used to complain a lot about life and moan about work, until I realised that I am entirely responsible for my own life, wellness and happiness. I create it.

So what is it that delights you and makes you bubble with joy?

Commit to doing one thing every day that lights you up and fills you up inside!

I leave you with these wise words of Elizabeth Gilbert and her most fabulous book, Big Magic – Creative Living Beyond Fear:

“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life.”

Plus a few pictures from my retreat :))
