How You show Me how to be a better Me – reflections from the Rest to Rise Retreat

I am just back from my 3-day Rest to Rise Retreat up in the French Jura. I can’t believe I’ve been running these retreats now since 2011, sometimes 4 times a year, and every single time it’s different and every single time I grow.

I am feeling so blessed and grateful right now. I am reminded of who I want to be.

Again and again, I am blown away by what happens on these retreats.

The people who show up, and I mean really show up, are like mirrors, reflecting back to me my fears and my pains, my self-doubt and confusion, my shadow and my light, my beauty, my strength, and my longing to live a Great life.

They are a direct reflection of my humanity and my divinity, standing before me, looking directly in my eyes.

Wow! That can feel really vulnerable at times, and really inspiring and empowering too.

I am reminded that when I show up, when I relax into being myself, fully, and when I open up to listen and share with others, I realise I have so much in common with pretty much everyone.

We each have our personal struggles and painful life experiences. We each have our crazy, monkey, self-doubting mind. We each have our shame, limiting beliefs and patterns that we’ve made our identity and that hold us back. We have our resistance to the very thing we long for the most. We each have incredible inner resources, wisdom, longing and love.

And how relieving it is to know that I am only human after all!!

Do you ever (unconsciously) run the story that your issues and problems are so unique or shameful that nobody would understand or want to hear them? Funny, isn’t it how we can alienate and separate ourselves ?

In Buddhism, Hinduism and original yogic texts, this illusion of separation is called Avidya – ignorance – and is said to be a root cause of our suffering (Dukha).

So, this past weekend in the French Jura, we took time to create space, to be still and silent, to release tension and to open up. Naturally this lead us to being more able to feel our bodies and our emotions, and to notice the stream of thoughts running through our minds. Some of them positive, some are really not.

Approaching all of this with the ‘right attitude’ is key.

When we support each other to do this with respect, patience, humility, compassion, and curiosity, then true wisdom flows forth. I just love hearing this wisdom emerge from each person as if it were being delivered on a silver platter for me!

The amazing thing is that every time someone shares how they are feeling and what is going on for them – no matter how big their pain, or uncomfortable their story, or wacky their vision is – it is so easy to love them.

As I hear, see and love them exactly as they are, in their pain and in their joy, without needing to give fix or advise or compete, I am loving myself even more in all my chaotic, neurotic, perfect messiness.

The more real and raw they are, the more present I am with my heart and the more alive I feel.

In truth, I yearn for this authenticity. I yearn for this radically real human connection and community. I yearn to show up in this way in life and be met there.

And the incredible thing is that just by creating this relaxed, loving space together, and allowing the space to reveal whatever wants to be revealed, with no push or pull, what gradually emerges is access to our innate sources of energy, joy, inner peace and love.

Inspiration bubbles up. We start to feel free again.

We are ready to rise up again, but now connected to a core and unlimited sense of Self.

 

Here are some other lessons and reflections I got from spending 3 days with an awesome group of people on the Rest to Rise Retreat: 

  • I am responsible for my life, my health and my happiness.
  • It is my choice to live an inspired and sacred life, aligned with my own truth.
  • I have full control of the energy in body. There is infinite supply of energy in the universe. When I release blockages and tension in my body I can access, channel and be a unique expression of this abundant life force.
  • You are a reflection of me, and I am a reflection of you. By loving you, I am loving me. By loving me, I am loving you.
  • Space, stillness and silence are hugely healing and nourishing, and help me go beyond the crazy chatter of the mind to a deeper, wiser connection with my true nature. Wisdom, clarity, peace of mind, connection and creativity naturally arise.
  • Nature reveals her loving wisdom in powerful and surprising ways when I take quality time and create my own unique relationship with her, really listening to her and trusting her.
  • I choose to create and seek out safe space whereby I can feel my emotions and be seen and felt and heard there by others, without fixing or advising. This unlocks stuck energy and liberates the flow of innate joy.
  • I choose to follow my own path and let others follow their path. I trust that my higher Self is going to guide me and I am going to be open to receive her guidance and abundance.
  • I choose to be in my body, and to feel all there is to feel in this human body.
  • I choose to live in the present moment.
  • Showing up fully is a choice and requires inspired action to share my vulnerable truth.
  • Movement, sound and breath help move energy and emotion (energy in motion) and can transform any moment. Authentic movement, sound and breath arise naturally from within, and connect me to my inner power and resources.
  • I acknowledge that feeling stuck, or disappointed, or uncomfortable, or disconnected is very much part of the awakening and transformational path. I just need to be awake enough in these moments to bring love, understanding and patience.
  • Knowing how good it feels to be deeply connected to myself and to others, I choose to be disciplined and courageous in taking inspired action to reconnect and to feel all there is to be felt, when I find myself closing down, resisting or disconnecting.

25 ways to raise your vibrations this winter and why it’s important

Do you notice that during the winter months it can be easy to let your vibrations lower? Do you feel heavier and less motivated? It’s not the case for everyone but I certainly feel that I need to be more consciously and actively finding ways to raise my vibrations every day.

It’s because it’s darker and colder, you may be inside more, less active, eating more and heavier food, watching tv and spending more time looking at computer screens, and that will all affect your moods and thoughts. 

It can be hard to just change your thoughts and mood because you want to. As soon as you take measures to raise your vibrations though, your thoughts and experience of life immediately change!

What does it mean to have high or low vibrations?

We all vibrate energetically at a particular frequency. The lower the frequency, the denser your energy. What you sometimes forget is that this directly affects your experience of life. Problems seem heavier too. You may experience heavier emotions, darker thoughts or lack of clarity, and more pain and discomfort in your physical body. It takes more energy and effort to get things done. There is less flow in your body and in life. This can lead to dis-ease.

The higher the frequency at which you vibrate energetically, the lighter you feel in your physical, emotional, and mental bodies. You have a sense of ease and flow in your body and your life. Challenges and emotions are dealt with easily. You manifest what you want almost as soon as you dream it. You feel more love and compassion, power, clarity, peace, and joy. Your energy is literally full of light!

Why is it important to raise your vibrations?

As Albert Einstein once said:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

So when you raise your vibrations you are literally emanating and attracting health, love, compassion, positivity, clarity, abundance, joy and so on. You will attract situations and people that are vibrating at that same high level as you. And similarly, you’ll attract lower vibrational people and situations when you lower your vibrations.

That gives me plenty of motivation! How about you? In fact, I would say that it is my number one priority and my conscious life path now to be making choices that consistently raise my vibrations.

Can you feel it? Take responsibility for your vibrational frequency.

We all have access to feeling our energy and the changes in our vibrations. I invite you from now on though to become really conscious of it, and especially of how your state of vibrational frequency is affecting you and others.

Tune in to your body, thoughts and emotions regularly during the day to see how you are feeling. Notice what is happening in your life, how people are acting, what situations are coming up and how you are responding to them. This is reflecting back to you something important about your own vibrations.

Once you are aware of it, you can take action to raise your vibrations for positive impact.

25 easy ways to consciously raise your vibrations

Ok, so here are a bunch of ways to consciously raise your vibrations this winter.

  1. Breathe deeply – From simple abdominal breathing to complex pranayama techniques, breathing is one of the most effective ways to let go of tension, get into your body and get your energy flowing again. It can be a powerful way to activate your energy body and access higher states of consciousness.
  2. Dance – Try starting your day by dancing for 15 minutes to your favourite uplifting tunes, or find yourself a Five Rhythms tribe locally, and make intuitive, free expression through your body a regular practice.
  3. Spend time in nature – It’s a no-brainer. Get your body saturated in the abundant negative ions in nature so that you feel alive and vibrant. Guaranteed effect!
  4. Get plenty of healing sleep and rest – Make it a priority for your body to regenerate through deep healing sleep and periods of conscious rest.
  5. Eat unprocessed, fresh, organic food, slowly and with gratitude – All food vibrates too. So your choice of food, where and how it is produced, as well as how you prepare and eat it, is going to have a direct impact on your vibrations.
  6. Drink lots of pure water – There is loads of evidence now showing how water crystals change depending how it is treated and the container you put it in. A flower of life bottle or even your own positive thoughts can make a difference.
  7. Practice gratitude – Instant gratification from a very different source than shopping or eating!! Make it a daily practice before bed to count your blessings and realise how lucky you are to have so much abundance and love in your life.
  8. Practice acts of kindness – It brings such a warm feeling to your heart to offer spontaneous compliments or little acts of kind service to total strangers and to loved ones alike.
  9. Laugh out loud – A good old belly laugh triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals, decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies.
  10. Love – Ok, this is the fast food for high vibrations. Nothing is more impactful on our system than the vibration of love. Even just imagining someone or something you love will raise your vibrations. This is not so much about being in love, but more about being love, thus in a state of love.
  11. Sing and sound – Whether it’s hollering in the car, howling under the full moon, blazing out the Bohemian Rhapsody under the shower, or singing a lullaby to your baby (or yourself), activating your voice consciously is like super food! Chanting OM puts you in direct vibration with the Universe.
  12. Let go – Release locked up tension and energy by actively letting go of attachment, fear, resistance, resentment and need to control. Allow feelings to be expressed consciously as they come up so that emotions don’t get locked up inside. Feel your fear and do it anyway. Trust your intuition and step forward into the unknown.
  13. Dream – Another superfood for your body. Spend time day dreaming. Imagine it in full colour, feel it in your body, taste it, smell it, hear it. Literally dream your life and the world you most desire into being.
  14. Be you – Be honest and authentically you. Do what you love to do. Be a full and unique expression of you in every moment. This is true high vibration existence!!
  15. Receive an energy healing – Energy healing and energetic body work, including conscious massage, is very powerful to help raise your vibrations. You just need to relax and open yourself to the flow of energy.
  16. Meditation  – The key thing is to bring yourself into the present moment, relaxing into what is, in order to access deeper being and knowing. This instantly brings you into higher vibrations.
  17. Practice Yoga, Tai Chi or Qi Gong – All of these practices use breath and movement to consciously clear the energy channels – essential to allow energy to flow freely again, bringing and maintaining ease, clarity and vitality.
  18. Hugs – The real, body-embracing, long, loving type of hugs, are scientifically proven to stimulate oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine, balance the nervous system, enhance the immune system, reduce heart rate and reduce worry of mortality. Let’s get hugging!
  19. Extended sensual and sexual pleasure – This is what Tantra is all about. It’s not about having great sex really, it’s about accessing and extending high vibrational pleasure states in life in order to heal and access higher states of consciousness. It is about living in an orgasmic state, vibrantly alive and joyful.
  20. Spend time with animals – Pure, grounded, and often, enlightened beings. There’s no analysis of whether their parents treated them right or blaming the government for all the woes of the world. Animals are present moment high vibrators.
  21. Play with children – Babies and children are naturally high vibrational. Spending time playing with them will help you activate your childlike joy, freedom and awe and wonder of the world too.
  22. Spend time with inspiring, uplifting people  – As Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the 5 people you spend most time with.” Find your tribe and spend time with people who are actively being positive, living on purpose and making the world a better place. Read inspiring books and watch great TED talks.
  23. Be creative with your hands  – Your hands are energetically connected to your heart. Write, paint or make something with your hands and your heart.
  24. Clear your space of negative and artificial energy – Turn off all devices and get away from computer screens as much as possible. Use crystals or essential oils to clear the energy in your home. Use natural cleaning products. Turn off wifi and phones when you sleep.
  25. Open yourself to Universal energy – Simply open up and tune in to the energy of the Universe for healing and guidance. Ask for guidance from your Spirit guides. Believe that everything is happening FOR you and know that you are being supported and guided all the time.

Navigating the Dark

I seem to be apologising a lot lately! My shadow side showing up and getting projected out on to others. Perhaps it’s a quick cutting comment, or an energetic withdrawal and being cold, or more easily being in conflict. Sometimes it’s a sense of inner turmoil and feeling down, with self-doubt and addictive or self-defeating patterns showing up. Bleh! I don’t like when this is going on. I feel my body tense and a bit numb to emotions. I feel my vibrations low. I can sense I’m being protective or defensive. My mind is not trustworthy.

It’s a bit like walking through a bog (very Irish analogy), trying to tip-toe through, yet every so often dropping in up to your knees, or even falling flat on your face in the mud, and then blaming someone else rather than laughing out loud and rolling around in it!

Does any of this resonate for you? I’m hearing it from many people these days.

But of course!! Of course it’s so strong right now at the time of the Samhain, as we move into the darkest part of the year. We also had the dark new moon in Scorpio last weekend. Nature is always reflecting in and through us.

There is a blessing here folks! Oh yes! If this is showing up for you now, or whenever it does, it’s because you are being invited to acknowledge and love these shadow parts and the powerful energy they contain. No-one is whole without their shadow integrated.

You can try to fight it, hide it, ignore it, deny it, throw it away, and clean it up, but this will never work. Instead, own your shadow, name it, befriend it, dance with it, harness it and then channel it through the heart.

The dark holds your greatest gifts and power.  

The stronger the energy for you, the stronger the initiation. Congratulations, its means you are ready for this big transformation! This energy locked in the shadow is ready to be revealed. Are you ready to step up and be more of you?

When our shadows show up, it’s so easy to allow negative thoughts take over and feed a self-depracating inner dialogue. Our actions can exaggerate the situation, like not getting enough sleep, always staying busy, over-eating, spending too much time on the internet, or snapping at loved ones.

These thoughts and actions stem from a deep pain – the pain of feeling that, because of these shadow parts, we are bad, fake, and undeserving of good things, like love, community, success and happiness. As a result we choose the safe path in life and not to show up fully or go after what we want (in case we are found out and rejected, abandoned, humiliated etc.).

This is our core unworthiness and, the good news is, we all have it. 

The relief comes when we realise we are all the same, we all hold shame around these shadow parts, and so we step out of the fear of this unworthiness and we dare to face and befriend the shadow.

The extent to which you can take full responsibility and hold strong self-love for yourself when working with shadows, is the gauge of your personal growth and awakening. It’s not that they never show up again.

Navigating your inner landscape, and especially the dark, with love and compassion, humour and humility, is key to your freedom and happiness. 

BRING MORE CONSCIOUSNESS AND LOVE TO YOUR SHADOWS :

  • Make time to be still with yourself. Listen and feel what is really going on for you.
  • Love yourself and the shadow parts, like a mother unconditionally loving a child.
  • Give your shadow a name (mine is Gertrude) and role play with her/them.
  • Acknowledge your deeper pain and your needs.
  • Share your shadows, pain and needs with someone who can love you there.
  • Practice apologising in a way that you take full responsibility for your part.
  • Get more rest and sleep.
  • Take walks in nature on your own and open to her wisdom. Sing, dance, breathe.
  • Get clear on what you have learned.
  • Celebrate your progress.

Finally, thank you for doing this work and bringing more consciousness to your shadows. Here I am just touching the surface of this subject, but it is, in my opinion, the most important ‘work’ we can do to transform our lives, our relationships and our communities.

Be gentle with yourself. All healing has its time. The first step is just to love yourself and know that all the way to your core, you are good, all good, and you are loved.

My response to having my sacred space violated

 

Today as I arrived to set up for my Heart Circle I found our space had been broken into and burgled. Cupboards were open and everything had been searched and tossed around. I had that uncomfortable feeling of shock and fear rush through my body. Instead of carrying out a ritual to prepare the energy for our circle and open a healing space for raw and vulnerable heart sharing, I had to call the police.

I was shaken.

I was even more shaken when I discovered they had entered my temple space, where I hold all my sacred bodywork. They took from my altar my Buddha, mala beads, rattle and ceremonial feather. Really strange, yes! In fact they took nothing else but these, as they found no money.

It feels like it would have been easier though to let go of money, than to feel the violation of my sacred space.

Of course, at a superficial level it is nothing important. But there is something here that goes deeper, and to let it pass by as ‘nothing’ would be to let such violation be ok, and to dishonour something very sacred. This simple burglary is tiny but it represents something so much more common and almost accepted in our society.

“I have been robbed of this opportunity,” one of the participants realised as she struggled to manage the sudden feelings. Having sought out a loving, healing space and prepared to show up vulnerably and authentically with others in Heart Circle, this unexpected violent intrusion came as such a blow to her tender heart. I get it.

It’s not ok.

I have experienced being burgled before. I have been robbed in my home twice, and from a tent once while I was sleeping. Another time I was lying on a beach dozing in the sun when I had a vision of being robbed. I opened my eyes to find a man sitting beside me taking everything out of my handbag. Freaky but I had my guardian angels helping me out!

I have never enjoyed the feeling. Interestingly, though, while I’ve always experienced the shock and adrenaline rush in my body, and then perhaps the sadness and vulnerability, I never felt anger. There is a part of me that actually finds it very easy to let it go and forgive the violator, knowing that material objects are not important. As long as people are safe, all is fine.

While this has always been my honest, authentic response in the moment, and it is helpful to act pragmatically in the situation, I realize that it could also partly be a conditioned, protective response to avoid feeling too much, especially anger (which tends to be conditioned out of us) and to stay ‘level-headed’. On the other hand, lashing out in anger or spouting out words of hate or blame is useless too and just projecting out inner violence.

However, as I have grown stronger and more conscious in myself, I realize that this conditioned response is ignoring my own sovereign and sacred being and that it is not ok to violate my boundaries and my space. I was being quite vague around honouring my own boundaries. Yes, I genuinely felt safe in myself and loving towards others, even the thieves, and at the same time, it was a reflection of lacking some access to my inner fire.

What would be a normal response?

If I have my personal sacred space violated, I consider that a normal response is to feel the pain, the anger, the disgust, and the vulnerability of such violation. A normal response is to react in fury to personal, sovereign boundaries being crossed. A normal response is fierce protection of the sacred, authentic, vulnerable and the loving heart space, and those I am inviting in or holding within this tender space. This is the same ferociousness of any mother protecting her children.

It is essential to give space to all parts to be felt and not to deny them. This way you start to access more of yourself, your inner fire and your aliveness.

Now I recognize when I might be denying something, and I give myself time and space to drop into feeling it. Now I realise that in feeling all that there is to be felt around this violation of sacred space, I am honouring the sacred feminine.

Taking time to feel and clear the energy

So, today, after spending time with the participants, dealing with the police, and observing my first response and reactions, I went to the forest and gave myself full permission to feel all that needed to be felt; to say all that needed to be said; and to hear all that needed to be heard.

At first, I sat in stillness and dropped in to access what was there in the different parts of me. As I allowed myself to feel more, I let out the roars of anger and the cries of disgust and pain. I acknowledged the fear, the hurt and the sadness. I proclaimed my sovereign power as my birthright and reinstated my boundaries. I forgave. I sat still and I listened again and again. I followed instinctively my body until I felt I was complete in my own joy and in my clarity. I felt I had owned all that was mine and let go all that was not mine. I felt grounded and like, this time, I had honoured myself fully.

Nothing of my heart or my true divine essence can be taken from me by anyone as I long as I don’t allow it, and as long as I consciously honour this goodness in me.  Nothing from what I know and do with honour and integrity can be tarnished by anyone else’s judgements or disrespect. My truth is my truth.

I also did this for all of us who come into and consciously create sacred heart space.

I then went and did the same in the physical space and in my temple. I lit a candle and created an altar. I drummed and chanted and removed all unwanted energy. I reinstated the sanctity of the place. I called in the guardians of the space to fortify the energy and the safety. With every massage and healing session, yoga, meditation or pilates class, and every gathering and heart intention, we continue to fortify this energy, together.

It’s not about building walls. It is about honouring boundaries so that we can open up even more, with greater safety, clarity and conviction.

While it was not ok what these people did to violate our and my space, I recognize that something in their lives is driving them to feel such need. I pray that the energy of the space and my sacred objects bring them some positive and transformational vibes!! I will not lose energy by holding any resentment there.  In fact, they would be welcome in my next Heart Circle so that we can meet eye to eye and heart to heart. 🙂

The gift of today’s experience

The gift of today’s experience is clear to me – to know and hold firmly to my sacred boundaries and my sovereign being, while at the same time keeping my heart wide open in honour of my truth, and that in doing so I am holding myself and the work I do with fierce love.

Today’s experience also rooted in me even deeper the importance of this work and the need for Heart Circles. We need spaces to feel all there is to be felt, to speak out our truth, to hear and feel it ourselves, as well as to be witnessed in our authenticity. We need each other to get through the challenges we meet in life and to create new, safe and loving human experiences that counteract some of the outer violence of this world. We need each other to remember and dare to stay open in our hearts no matter what life is throwing our way.

It’s not ok for anyone to violate another person’s space, whether that is their home, their temple, their physical body or their energetic body. It’s not ok for anyone to violate sacred space, and this includes that which may be invisible but is created by heart intention.

At the same time, nothing can take away the sacredness of our hearts, our bodies, or our intentions, as long as we choose to acknowledge and honour our own divine goodness.

Let’s keep honouring our boundaries and choosing to stay open in love – fierce love.

If this is not your intention, then it is not yoga!

Last week in my yoga classes I asked the participants what they understood by ‘Fierce Love’. Words that were shared included, unconditional lovenon-judgementacceptanceunwavering presence, empowering, letting go, allowing, kindness …. and so on. In general there was a feeling of connecting to their core values here.

However, as we discussed more what it meant to embody Fierce Love in everyday life (including for instance, loving a person who seems the most difficult to love, loving even where you are being hurt, and loving yourself even when you feel unloveable), it emerged that most people had no clearly defined and conscious intention or aspiration to love, or learn to love, in this way.

Maybe it was a vague idea mixed up in the whole process of personal development. Maybe it was linked to loving their children, family and significant other. But to love fiercely and unconditionally all people and life, no matter what was coming back, was certainly not a consciously chosen intention for their yoga practice or as their ultimate purpose in life.

I have to admit, call me naïve if you like, but I was stunned!

I wondered, am I a poor teacher? Have I not been able to appropriately share and transmit the values of yoga and spiritual practice?

Very courageously, one woman then shared that she did not think that she knew how or had the capacity to love in that way. Yes, I understand this feeling.

Another commented that receiving such love would mean a big responsibility to let in that love and to give back. And yes, again, I understand this feeling.

Many referred to the difficulty of holding this unconditional love for themselves. I get that too.

Fierce Love touches our core human wounds

I started to realise that, of course, when we talk about fierce love, and what it really means to embody that, we are touching on such deep core human wounds. Wounds like rejection, abandonment, injustice, humiliation and betrayal. The wound of core unworthiness, that “I do not deserve such love”. Wounds that exist within all of us through human conditioning and that cause us to shy away from what is in fact our deepest longing – to be loved and to love unconditionally.

As a result, and because the challenge of learning love is so epic – indeed I believe it is our greatest challenge in this lifetime – we actually lose sight of our longing. We hide it even from ourselves. Perhaps it’s the fear of failing. Perhaps it’s the shame of not knowing how to love in that way, while deep down we ultimately know that we are love and long for love.  Fear of uncovering our vulnerability.

How normal and understandable it all is, too, when most of us have never really experienced pure unconditional love. How could we emulate it if we have never received it? Perhaps divine or universal love is the closest we can get to it but the human love, though perhaps not intentionally, is mostly marred with messy attachments, judgements and conditions. We have learnt to fear loving too much in case we get hurt.

My Personal Commitment

In that moment, I realised, even deeper in my heart, how important this work is. I re-committed to making this my life purpose, to learn to love fiercely and to find ways to help all of us explore together what it means, what it takes and what it feels like to truly embody fierce love in life.

love-is-the-ultimate-and-the-highest-goal-to-which-man-can-aspire-quote-1Ok this is not easy, and I will be the first to stand up and say that this is hugely challenging for me to live out every day. Yet, deep down I know that it is my truth, and all of our ultimate truths, and that we all have the capacity to love fiercely and unconditionally. This is what we are. We have just forgotten.

The Fierce Love Retreat is one such contribution to this commitment, along with all of the Heart Circles I run where we come together to remember and practice.

It’s not about whether we succeed or not. 

It’s not about being successful and achieving some ultimate goal of perfection. It matters more that we have the desire and the will to hold the intention, to try and to persevere.

First of all then, we must aspire to it – we must aspire to remember and reveal the love that we are made of – and choose this as the purpose of our Sadhana – our daily spiritual practice – in whatever form that takes.

I will go as far as to say, that if this is not the purpose of your practice, then it is not yoga!

The human heart is never completely born

Though the human body is born complete in one moment, the human heart is never completely born. It is being birthed in every experience of your life. Everything that happens to you has the potential to deepen you. It brings to birth within you new territories of the heart.

What incredibly beautiful words from the Irish poet and philosopher, John O’Donohue, acknowledging the infinite potential and intelligence of the heart.

Why on earth would we limit ourselves or cut off short the depths of such potential? Is it fear, education, not wanting or just not knowing how to feel so much?

We fear what we long for the most. We are inspired by those who dare and we know ourselves better through their expression. Yet alone it can seem insurmountable to go to such depths of the human heart.

Somehow, this incredible human heart keeps knocking on the door of our consciousness, usually through the body, yearning for more and letting us know when we are off course, abandoning our truth. We are guided again and again back home. Thank goodness for that!
